University Assets for Interdepartmental Purchase

Listed University assets are available for interdepartmental purchase for 3 weeks from posting date. Assets not purchased by another University department will be offered for sale via public auction on GovDeals or Ficke & Ficke Auctioneers.

Departments may transfer excess/surplus property directly to other departments within the University. Departments may also establish an asking price for assets or accept offers from interested departments. University policy requires all interdepartmental transfer or sale to other University departments be completed using the Interdepartmental Transfer Form. For assets sold to other departments, the form should be forwarded to fleet@unl.edu or if the asset is transferred at no cost, the form should be forwarded to unl_inventory@unl.edu. University Fleet Management will complete the fund transfer and notify University Inventory of the asset transfer.

If requested, for a $10 fee University Fleet Management will complete the Interdepartmental Transfer Form on your departments’ behalf and forward to the appropriate department chairs for signature.

Departments receiving assets from other University departments are responsible for pick-up. Arrangements can be made for delivery through Moving Services (standard rates apply).

Note: University assets in no way are to be used for personal use unless sold at public auction or other approved method. Fixed assets purchased with Federal or Federal Pass-Through Funding may NOT be transferred without prior documented approval from the Department of Sponsored Programs.

In order to list an item for interdepartmental purchase, complete the University Asset to List Form and submit the form along with pictures to fleet@unl.edu.
